Rest

Sickness all around and being haunted by Covid-19,
Academic continuity being disrupted,
Unsafe workplace and jobless phase,
Plans on hold and progress being slowed down,
Thoughts, more like worries, full of “Wh” Questions – What will I do now? When will this end? What will happen next?
Though it’s a global challenge to overcome this hurdle, we tend to make it personal at times, by asking – Why me?

There is one thing and one thing only, we all have in common in our pursuit, and that’s REST. The only word that would satisfy us, regardless of what we are going through.
Not a temporary REST but a permanent REST.

A sort of REST that will not fade away when peace is gone.
A sort of REST that will stay when peace is destroyed in our lives, in our homes, in our society, in our nations.
A sort of REST that will remain even when we lack or when we are in want.
A sort of REST that will keep our hopes alive.
A sort of REST that will help us to “live our purpose” every day.
A sort of REST that will help us to offer a shoulder to the broken.
A sort of REST that makes us strong despite being weak.
A sort of REST that makes us invincible.

This REST must come from somebody who is already at REST.
Somebody who has a heart and a capacity to hold us into their REST without being tired or burdened.
We cannot put a price on it or can purchase it.
It’s freely given and we are freely welcomed.
The token we have to offer is trust and obedience.

You may not know my story and what I am going through at this moment, and despite having all odds lined against me, I am at REST. The reason why I am unmoved after everything I’ve been through is that I am at REST.
Where did I get this REST and how?
Seek the One, in whom I am at REST.

Jesus said – “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28‭-‬30.
